Muddings comes to you

We can come to you instead of you coming to us!

Sometimes its hard to get your whole class off site, so Muddings can now come to you!

This is more time and cost effective than a full trip out if budget is a consideration whilst still enabling children to benefit from the open-ended child led nature play we have become so well known for over the past two years. We have four Level 3 forest school trained practitioners on our books all of whom are passionate about nature play and supporting children to access it, we come equipped with all our own resources, and we’re all insured and paediatric first aid trained for outdoor settings.

Our in-house sessions last for 2.5 hours and can take place either in the morning or in the afternoon (9.30 - 12pm or 1.30 pm - 4pm) and are charged at £150 for one forest school practitioner to attend and run a session for up to 30 children.

A typical Muddings visit in your setting or provision would look like:

  • 9.30am - arrive and introduction, circle time and songs
  • 10 - 11.30am - Nature play and nature crafts, as well as learning through play about the earth and the nature around us
  • 11.30  - Circle time, fire time, songs, story and goodbye at 12pm

We will carry out a risk assessment prior to running any session, and we provide a kit or info list for your to send out to parents/carers before we come in (this will outline what children will need to wear based on the weather forecast). We will also send you an overview of the session after we’ve done which again you are welcome to send out via your parent communication portal. Sessions will link to the seasons and any significant events (eg. easter, Diwali, etc) as well as the EYFS.

One of the core principles of forest school is a continued and regular access to nature play, and so we would ask for a minimum commitment of one session every other week so that we are able to recognise progression in the children.
